Professional Peer Networking & Workshop - Early-Career Professionals
What and Where:
You are invited to attend an upcoming 1.5-hour Professional Peer Networking (PPN) event on Wednesday, September 23, 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM ET. You can register here.
This event is designed for early-career professionals, recent graduates, and students, especially those currently working at the intersection of evaluation and one or more of the following – advocacy, climate resilience, grantmaking, and policy. To provide additional support to early-career professionals, this event will combine skill-building and professional speed networking so participants can gain easy-to-apply tips on authentic networking, practice in a low-stake environment, and get instant feedback!
PPN is an ongoing series of free virtual speed networking events. The space is created for professionals to meet and network with others in rounds of one-on-one and small-group meetings to share your work, learn from others, and build relationships. [Workshop & Networking] Organizing Professionals: Labor Unions in the Knowledge & Service Economy
For many knowledge professionals navigating job market uncertainty, including evaluators, the effort has largely been individual. What if there is a more collective approach to it?
This interactive virtual conversation on Tuesday, October 6, 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM ET, will cover the fundamentals of labor organizing, including what labor unions are and why they are an effective tool for improving working conditions for everyone. The presenter, Dr. Ragon from Penn State University , will also provide a broad overview of the major players and issues specific to organizing professionals. There will be time for networking and a discussion of how to get involved with or start organizing your own union.
