Power Hour: Data Viz that Dazzles: From Infographics to Dashboards

Description:

This presentation provides reflections and recommendations for producing data visualization (data viz) deliverables that engage diverse audiences. Data visualization has a long history in evaluation. However, expectations for visualized data products have risen and broadened significantly in recent years. Data visualization deliverables come in various forms, including infographics, dashboards, success stories, and videos. Bartkowski & Associates Research Team principals have experience with all of these, but infographics and dashboards are increasingly at the top of clients’ preferred product lists. Our team’s presentation offers a broad set of insights on both successful ventures and cautionary lessons concerning data visualization. So, plenty of attention is paid to tips and tricks, but potential pitfalls receive their due as well. We also address among the hottest topics in evaluation … AI, which can be both a friend and foe of effective data visualization. Various platforms for data viz creation and dissemination are described, as are approaches to secure client buy-in for sharing results. The presentation is rich in examples and direct engagement with actual deliverables, but there’ll be plenty of time for questions, discussion, and collective problem-solving (perhaps even some commiseration).

  • Successful and challenging adventures in data visualization
